In-depth astrology courses typically occur online, lacking the potential for person to person connection, while in-person learning often takes place in shorter formats that make it difficult to engage on a deep level.
This in-person class bridges these two things to offer you an extended container that presents an opportunity to develop connections and carry conversations over multiple weeks to help you better understand and connect with the art of astrology (and your fellow cohort!)
-
✺
My approach to teaching astrology takes you beyond memorization of the ‘ABC’s’ of astrology and focuses on creating connections around why astrology works the ways that it does and cultivating an embodied, lived understanding of the astrological art

My hope is to bring together a group with a variety of perspectives and level of experience to the table.

Hi, I’m Cori Anne, and my ever-ongoing journey with astrology began over ten years ago. I was immediately captivated by the art and language of the cosmos and knew it was meant to play a central role in my life’s purpose.
When it comes to practicing and teaching astrology, I root my approach in Hellenistic doctrine, technique, and theory, while honoring the lineage of astrology and its development over time while providing space for exploration of more contemporary applications in our modern lives.

The details: course content
Week 1
In our first week of class we’ll explore the history of western astrology, using its long, rich lineage as a jumping off point of discussion around what we understand astrology to be, how astrology exists in the zeitgeist, and its role as a modern practice. We’ll discuss our own individual relationships to astrology and explore how understanding the history of astrology shifts what we think of astrology’s role in our own lives.
Week 2
In our second class we’ll start digging into astrology as a practice by looking at one of the most fundamental components of astrology: the planets. We’ll explore the seven traditional planets, their meaning and significations, and traditional means of classifying the planets. We’ll also look at the three modern outer planets and their significance. In addition to traditional, systematic ways of understanding the planets, we’ll also discuss mytho-poetic and animist approaches to understanding the planets, as well as how they resonate in the psyche.
Week 3
Our third week together will be an exploration of one of the most commonly talked about facets of astrology: the signs. We’ll explore the history and development of the signs, the traditional means of systematically categorizing the signs, as well as their symbolic and mythic resonance. Our discussion will take us beyond a pop-astrology, stereotype understanding of each of the signs, bringing us into a place of understanding the unique depth, wisdom, and magic that all 12 signs offer as a means of bringing more depth and nuance to your understanding of them.
Week 4
Our fourth class brings us to a discussion of one of the most important components of understanding how astrology works: the houses. The houses are the fundamental bridge that brings this celestial art into our terrestrial world. We will discuss the history of how the houses came to be, the meanings and significations of all 12 houses, as well as various means of categorizing the houses. While this topic can often feel complex and intimidating, my approach to teaching the houses brings clarity and groundedness that helps you understand them in a practical way.
Week 5
In our sixth class we’ll bring together the building blocks of astrology and explore means of approaching a natal chart and understanding it as a holistic ecosystem. We’ll build on concepts such as sect and essential dignity, as well as integrate techniques, such as aspects, as a means of finding entry points into charts and beginning the process of chart interpretation. We’ll move through this process using example charts and participants’ own charts as a means of helping integrate the concepts we’ve been talking about, as well as helping you cultivate a relationship with and understanding of your own natal chart.
Week 6
In our final class together we’ll build on our week 5 discussions by continuing to explore how the chart functions as a whole, as well as exploring how and when certain parts of your natal chart are being activated by current planetary motion. We’ll look at our natal charts as an anchor between past, present, and future by gaining an understanding of planetary cycles and how the cosmos moves in real time. We’ll cover timing techniques such as transits, profections, and planetary returns.

About me, my relationship to astrology, and my approach to teaching
Hi, I’m Cori Anne, and my ever-ongoing journey with astrology began over ten years ago. I was immediately captivated by the art and language of the cosmos and knew it was meant to play a central role in my life’s purpose. Much of my learning path has been self-guided, beginning in the world of modern astrology but truly finding my footing and home in traditional disciplines, particularly Hellenistic.
I came into astrology at a time in my life where I was asking myself big questions around who I am, what I was doing, what I wanted out of life and how I needed to move forward to make it so. Ever since, astrology has acted as a beacon and guide, both internally and externally, as I've learned more and more about myself, my life, what I am doing, and what I want to do. It has helped make things make sense as those aspirations and understandings of self have shifted and changed. My hope as an astrologer is to help people connect with the art, discipline, and language of astrology so that it can support and guide them in the same way.
One of my favorite things about astrology is that I will never not be a student of this discipline, no matter how adept I become and no matter where my professional journey takes me. There is always more to learn, both exoterically and esoterically, whether it be new perspectives, new techniques, or new, deeper understandings of what you previously thought of as simple or basic (which is a big cornerstone of this course!) It is absolutely an honor to be at a point in my own journey where I am able to facilitate, inspire, and help shape the journey of others.
While my journey and education with astrology has been a meandering one, I have had the privilege of taking classes and workshops with incredibly talented astrologers such as Gray Crawford, Jason Holley, and Cristina Farella, which has greatly shaped my approach to astrology. I have also had the privilege of working with Cristina Farella as a mentor, which has played a crucial role in my development and journey as a professional. In addition to the astrology teachers and mentors I’ve worked with, I’ve also had the privilege of apprenticing under Rebecca Beyer in an intimate program focused on European and Appalachian herbalism and folk magic, gardening, and foraging. This impactful experience helped foster not only a mentor-mentee connection, but also close, intimate connections with my fellow apprentices that continue to this day. My own apprenticeship experience plays an important role in the inspiration of the Foundations of Astrology program and my approach to teaching it, and I hope to foster similar connections in our own cohort.
When it comes to teaching astrology, I root my approach in Hellenistic doctrine, technique, and theory, while honoring the lineage of astrology and its development over time, as well as providing space for exploration of more contemporary applications in our modern lives. My work and the research that informs my classes is built upon the work of contemporary astrologers such as Chris Brennan, Jason Holley, and Demetra George, and draws directly from the ancient texts of Vettius Valens, Ptolemy, Porphyry, Manillius (and so many others). Above all I strive to honor the lineage of this rich tradition and the many minds, spirits, souls, and cultural perspectives that have shaped this art and ensured its persistence over the course of thousands of years.
